LAKE KISSIMMEE OCTOBER 25TH, 2008
Well another year has come and gone and once again we have crowned NEW Anglers of the Year for 2008. I am proud to announce that Dennis Smith and Karl SUNDSTROM, finally got the last name spelled right, are the new champions once again. I want to CONGRADULATE them on a hard earned victory and I look forward to dethroning them next year. Dennis & Karl finished out the year with a total of 311 points for the top spot, followed by Phil Mansfield & Darrell Paquin with 237 points for second and Mike Burgun & Steve Holmes with 228 points for third place. Once again Mike & Steve did not take the option of paying the entry fee for a tournament that they could not attend and they LOST OUT on some very valuable points. I wonder what would had happened if Ben Abele had not moved away and him and Jason were able to fish out the rest of the year. HUMMMMMMMMMMM oh well sorry BEN. Congratulations once again to DENNIS & KARL and watch out next year. Our last tournament for the 2008 season was on Lake Kissimmee and the morning was real nice until the rain decided to show. We had a total of 5 boats show up and a total of 20 bass brought to the scales. We could had everyone weigh in fish, but there was a little confusion at the start of the tournament and one team did not receive their permits for 12 inch fish. Darrell and I had a wonderful morning and we were catching fish just as fast as we could cast our bait to a spot. We just could not locate BIG OLE MOMMA BASS, but we still had a wonderful time. In THIRD Place with a five fish limit and a total of 9.36 pounds was Mike Burgun and Steve Holmes. In SECOND Place with a five fish limit and a total of 9.84 pounds was Phil Mansfield and Darrell Paquin In FIRST Place with a five fish limit and a total of 10.59 pounds was Dennis Smith and Karl SUNDSTORM. Congratulations to all our winners and I want to THANK everyone for an eventful year, once again I have enjoyed the time spent with all my friends and being your President. After the tournament, we had a meeting about next year. We decided that because we were missing a large portion of the club, I will be sending out a separate E-MAIL to everyone to VOTE upon our OPTIONS for 2009. Several items were discussed and it was decided for the fairness of all members involved, I would send out the E-MAIL and let everyone explore the options. So look for the E-MAIL in the next few days. Also, I would like to thank the OUTCAST BASS CLUB for welcoming us into their club, back in May. Just remember this GUYS, what ever is decided on for next year will stay that WAY for the ENTIRE year, so please explore all options before making a decision.
